Yes it’s the smart features are cool, but unless you’re really going to use this mug e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y it’s not going to be worth it. If you are not an everyday hot beverage drinker….don’t waste your money on this mug. So if you’re going to buy this mug you should be certain. These mugs cost a pretty penny starting at $99 and going up to $179 for the travel mug. The battery life would be more important on the Traveling Ember Mug but for me with the standard style it wasn’t a big consideration. I keep my charging plate at my desk and set the mug down on the plate between sips so battery life isn’t a big consideration for me. Having your coffee at a specific temperature the entire time means your last sip is going to be just an enjoyable as your last.īattery life the ember mug last 1.5 hours keeping your hot drink hot. I think it is just an overall more pleasurable experience than a standard ceramic mug. During this first month of having my Ember mug I’ve found I actually drink cups faster. The first couple of days I would absentmindedly take a few sips between meetings and be pleasantly surprised my coffee was still hot. There is a weird sense of joy coming back to a mug two hours after your brewed it and it’s still hot. On to performance….the mug performs great. But for me I found the temperature settings to be more of a novelty than something I really used regularly. ![]() If you drink coffee along with various teas you would prefer to be served at different temperatures, this mug would work for you. I’m sure there is a coffee equivalent of a sommelier who would beg to differ but for someone who’s a casual or slightly above casual drinker your coffee will be hot using this mug, which all we want right? I usually only drink coffee. ![]() I will say after using the Ember Mug for a month I’ve only opened the app maybe 3 times. It’s intuitive and easy to use and I had no issue connecting the mug. The AppĮmber has its own stand and alone app where you can control the temperature settings of the mug. You will see the LED illuminate a white light. Not a dealbreaker by any means – but definitely a different sensory experience in comparison to a standard mug. Power ON - Press the power button located on the bottom of the Ember Mug or Ember Mug². Rick bought me this mug for my 50th birthday and I first thought, “do I really need another blue tooth enabled electronic gadget and app to figure out?” After using the cup for less than a week I quickly realized, yes.
